RecLife is a voice recording application for iOS and Apple Watch. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how RecLife handles your data.
Data Collection
RecLife collects the following data, which is stored on your device:
Audio recordings: Voice memos recorded through the app
Recording metadata: Titles, duration, creation dates, tags, and notes
Transcriptions: Text generated from your recordings via AI transcription (optional, Premium feature)
User preferences: Language, theme, recording format settings
Data Storage
Local Storage (default):
All recordings and metadata are stored locally on your device
Data is managed using on-device databases (SwiftData)
No analytics or tracking is implemented
Cloud Backup (optional, Premium feature):
RecLife offers optional cloud backup to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, and Google Drive
Cloud backup is strictly opt-in — it is never enabled without your explicit consent
When enabled, your audio files and recording metadata are uploaded to your chosen cloud storage provider
Cloud storage is managed by the respective provider (Apple, Dropbox, Google) under their own privacy policies
RecLife does not operate its own servers for storing your data
AI Transcription
Transcription is an optional Premium feature using OpenAI's Whisper API
When you request a transcription, the audio is sent to OpenAI for processing
OpenAI's data usage policy applies to this processing
Transcription results are stored locally on your device
Data Sharing
RecLife does not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties
RecLife does not use user data for purposes unrelated to its core functionality
RecLife does not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, or lending purposes

Users can delete all stored data at any time by:
Deleting individual recordings within the app
Removing cloud backups from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or Google Drive
Uninstalling the app (all local data is automatically removed)
Children's Privacy
RecLife does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us.
